Little is known about this man.
Chailey Parish Magazine first notes him in April 1917 as a corporal with the British Red Cross Society, recording also
that he has been twice mentioned in despatches and has been awarded the Croix de Guerre with star. This information is repeated up to and including the final published roll call in the magazine in July
1919.
Reg Phiplott remembers that after the war, Harry Jeffreys used to umpire the local cricket team and had a daughter names
Ruth. Nothing further is known of this man or his war service.
