65522 Sapper E Weeden of the Royal Engineers was a convalescent patient at Hickwells in 1915.  Little else however is known about him.  His entry in Nurse Oliver’s album reads:

For gold in merchant plough

the sea, And the farmer plough

the manor  But glory is the soldiers

prize The soldiers wealth is honour

so the brave soldiers never dispise

and treat him as a stranger

For remember he his country stay

In the hour of danger

Praiseworth treatment

His medal index card at The National Archives states his number and the Field Company he served with – the 135th.  It also gives his date of enlistment - 27th January 1915 – and his date of discharge due to sickness: 22nd July 1915.  He was not entitled to any medals but did receive the silver war badge.
