Ernest Stevens and Alice Pointing

The Corporal E F Stevens mentioned in Chailey Parish Magazine's January 1919 issue as serving with the Salvage Corps, is Ernest Frank Stevens.   He was the husband of Alice Pointing (and therefore the brother-in-law of George, Frank, James and William Pointing).  His mother-in-law, also Alice Pointing, worked as a cook with Sussex 54 VAD.

 

Ernest was born on 23rd December 1889 and married Alice Pointing on 15th December 1915; Alice's address on her marriage certificate is noted as 102 Eaton Square London.
